Home / Posts / Cisco ACI – Release Notes of 6.0.2j ACI Software

ACI Software 6.0.2j was released on August 2nd, 2023. First, it seems that this would be the initial Maintenance release for the 6.x Train. But later, Cisco changed it to another Feature release.

New Features

No new features were added with 6.0.2j, this is a pure Bug fix release.

Solved Issues & Other changes

According to the Release Notes, Cisco fixed two known Issues with the 6.0.2j release.

Bug ID Description
CSCwf80352 Cisco APIC does not accept special characters “#” and “;” in then fabric name field when upgrading to the 6.0(2) release. For example, if the fabric name is “Test#03, it will be truncated to “Test”, which causes prevents switches from joining the fabric after they are reloaded during the upgrade. In this example, the Cisco APIC expects the name “Test#03”, but the switch is assigned the name “Test”.
CSCwh01298 The SSHD daemon does not listen on the IPV6 address.

CSCwf80352

This Bug sounds like it could generate some nasty problems if you use “#” or “;” in your Fabric name. Cisco only mentions Version 6.0.3 as a solution, but I guess they will include 6.0.2 in the future as well.

Symptom: Cisco APIC does not accept special characters “#” and “;” in then fabric name field when upgrading to the 6.0(2) release. For example, if the fabric name is “Test#03, it will be truncated to “Test”, which causes prevents switches from joining the fabric after they are reloaded during the upgrade. In this example, the Cisco APIC expects the name “Test#03”, but the switch is assigned the name “Test”.

Conditions:

  1. ACI fabric with name containing “#’ or “;”.
  2. Upgrade to the Cisco APIC 6.0(2h) release.

Workaround: Contact TAC to validate and implement the workaround/fix or upgrade to the Cisco APIC 6.0(3) release.

CSCwh01298

This could be an issue if you are using IPv6 for Management.

Symptom: the SSHD daemon is not listening on the IPV6 address.

Conditions: Disable/enable the SSH from the GUI ( Fabric -> Fabric Policies -> Policies -> Pod -> Management Access ) and check the listening port.

1
bash -c 'netstat -6 -an | grep -i "22 .*listen "'

Workaround: Contact the TAC.
